As ever it’s been a busy time for us at The Stitch Society with collaborations, awards and, of course, Christmas Fairs.
Always up for a collaboration, we have been working with Cathy Edwards from CE Leather Goods, based in Hebden Bridge to combine our fabric aprons with her gorgeous leather work, producing a range of made to order aprons, all with our usual attention to detail.
We were extremely lucky that the wonderful writer, photographer and spoken-word performer P P Harnett saw the results of our collaboration and agreed to wear a bespoke apron at London Fashion Week. It is great for us to have such a platform to show our work, so huge thank you to him for his support.
Hot off the press is the news we are a finalist in the Blue Patch Awards, finalists in the Social Impact Award, recognition for the work we have been doing with Keighley College. Blue Patch, a social enterprise organisation and collaborative business network, hosts the awards which recognise sustainability in business.
We will be heading down to London in December for the awards party with our fingers crossed. It’s really lovely to be recognised this way, particularly by an organisation like Blue Patch.
Finally, plans are in full swing for the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair taking place in Manchester this weekend. Our favourite event of the year, the flagship event is at Upper Campfield Market, from October 11 to 14 and we will be one of more than 150 of the UK’s top designer-makers from all over the UK, it really is one of the best shows around. Tickets can be bought in advance by clicking HERE. Please make sure you stop by and say hello if you are there – we would love to see you.
We have plenty more shows before Christmas so we will keep you posted. Hope to see you in Manchester this weekend where you will be able to see our new leather aprons and much, much more…
