After several years of nudging, we finally convinced Benjamin of The Owlery Prints  to work with us to make his  wonderful fabrics into aprons. Benjamin is a product based printmaker and artist who works with Lino and Screen Print media. He creates textiles, ceramics, and paper products and prints using motifs and surface designs with just a touch of whimsy. His designs include foxes, badgers and a number of native birds including blackbirds and song thrushes.

The Owlery was founded in late 2013, specialising in screen print and surface pattern design Benjamin creates home and giftware with original surface pattern designs. As well as aprons, Ben’s homeware range includes over gloves, tea towels and sandwich wraps. For those wanting a little whimsy in the bathroom, he also has a range of wash bags and reusable face pads. Ben’s range can be found online and in our Salts Mill shop.

Most items are hand made in house on vintage and modern industrial machinery but where he does work with manufacturers he is proud to work with UK based manufacturers, promoting the continued development and survival of UK industry. More recently he has been working on a series of fine art prints.

Benjamin proudly works from his studio in Yorkshire ArtSpace in Sheffield, home to over 160 artists and makers.
