Welcome to The Stitch Society Pocket Book for the 1st November, full of news and views…
We have one show left this year but it promises to be a good one. We will be at the Homfirth Art Fest in Holmfirth Civic Hall on Saturday and Sunday 16th & 17th November. There are a whole host of fabulous artists and makers, perfect for sourcing a few one of a kind Christmas presents. Open from 10am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday. For more information click HERE.
After 4 years of making our artisan workwear, we are having a good old sort out in the offices and holding a sample sale at the end of November. There will be a whole range of goodies at bargain prices including some fabulous aprons, kids aprons and gorgeous bags. We will open our doors on Saturday November 30th and Sunday 1st December from 11am until 4pm both days. We are in the Piazza Offices in Salts Mill, Saltaire. Come along, have a look at what we do and maybe bag yourself an early Christmas present.
As a festive treat each year, the Devon Guild of Craftsmen curates the UK’s best contemporary crafts to help with Christmas shopping and craft cravings. We are delighted to have been asked to submit our work for their MAKE 19 exhibition.
With my parents living close by in Exeter, I know the Guild well and have often visited so am delighted to be able to take part. We are showcasing Yorkshire woollens from Marton Mills in Otley and handcrafted leathers from ce leathergoods in Hebden Bridge. The exhibition runs from Saturday 16th November until Sunday 5th January 2020 in the Jubilee Gallery at the Guild in Bovey Tracey.
The annual exhibition has handmade pieces by hand picked designer-makers. The variety of materials and range of prices make it an ideal place to purchase a thoughtful gift for someone special. Their craft shop will also have plenty to help you get ready for Christmas, with a delightful selection of Christmas cards, wrapping, decorations and gifts, as well as the great variety of unique crafts handmade by their Members.
Thank you for taking time to read our Pocket Book for 1st November. We love to hear your stories and please let us know if there is anything you would like featured in the Pocket Book. Have a good week.
